The NOVA 1005 Thermoplastic Cut-Through Tester meets the NEMA-MW1000 and the JIS C3003 crossing method specifications.  The tester determines the magnet wire insulation capacity to resist thermoplastic flow (softening) under the influence of temperature, load (pressure), and time.

The test temperature rate of rise can be set at 2°C or 5°C per minute.  A constant test temperature feature is also available.  

The standard 5 specimen oven will test round magnet wire sizes 12 AWG to 44 AWG (2mm to 0.05mm).
