The NOVA 1162-LC Dissipation Factor Tester measures the dissipation factor (DF) value of film insulated round magnet wire for sizes 12 AWG - 33 AWG.  DF indicates the degree of cure of enamel coated magnet wire.  An optional sample holder is available for testing finer wire sizes.
The NOVA 1162-LC has two test cells (solder pots) for testing the magnet wire DF at elevated temperatures and a common cell to make electrical contact with the conductor. The NOVA 1162-LC automatically controls the amount of time (i.e., 60 seconds) a sample has been at the elevated temperature in the test cell and then momentarily turns off power to the test cells to take an accurate DF reading.  The DF reading is displayed on the NOVA 1162-LC LED display.  The tester also has a 90-second oven timer for timing sample dry-out in a drying oven.
