The NOVA 1401-LCT performs the dielectric breakdown test on round film insulated magnet wire.  Optional fixtures allow testing of test tape, film and sheet insulation.  The tester has a test voltage range of 0 to 20,000 volts.  The rate of voltage rise is 20 to 500 volts per second. 

An electronic timer indicates the duration of the constant voltage test in manual mode.

A large clear polycarbonate test compartment with two safety switches ensures operator safety. A mechanical contact specimen holder plugs into the high voltage terminals in the test compartment for testing twisted pair specimen.  The dielectric breakdown test voltage is displayed until it is reset by the operator.
